| Concepto | Formal / profesional | Informal / coloquial |
|---|---|---|
| Saludar | Dear Sir/Madam | Good morning | Hey! | What's up? | Yo! |
| Pedir ayuda | I would appreciate your assistance with... | Could you help me out? | Give me a hand? |
| Estar de acuerdo | I concur with your assessment. | Yeah, totally! | Absolutely! | For sure! |
| Rechazar | I'm afraid I must respectfully decline. | I'll pass, thanks. | Not my thing. |
| Estar cansado | I'm feeling rather fatigued. | I'm wiped out. | Dead tired. | Exhausted. |
| Algo muy bueno | It's excellent. | Outstanding. | It's awesome! | Amazing! | Sick! (jerga joven) |
| Irse | I must be going. | I'll take my leave. | I gotta run. | I'm out. | Catch you later! |
| No entender | I beg your pardon? | What? | Huh? | Come again? |
| Dinero | funds | capital | finances | cash | dough | bread | bucks |
| Comida | cuisine | meal | nourishment | grub | chow | eats |
| Problema | issue | concern | challenge | problem | mess | headache | nightmare |
Ojo: algunas opciones formales de esta tabla son muy rígidas (I concur with your assessment, I'll take my leave) y hoy casi no se oyen. En el trabajo, lo normal es un punto medio: I agree with you, I have to go now.
