Capítulo 6 · Lección 6.3 · Números, fechas y la hora
Números, fechas y la hora en inglés: what time is it?, how much is it?
Horas, precios y fechas sin trabarte.
Para la hora el inglés usa time, nunca hour: What time is it? Y siempre responde con it's, aunque sean las cinco: It's five o'clock.
La regla: La hora: What time is it? → It's + hora. El precio: How much is it? → It's + número. La fecha: mes + día en ordinal (May 3rd = May third).
La hora de dos maneras
| Hora | Lo más común en EE. UU. | También se oye |
|---|---|---|
| 3:00 | It's three o'clock. | It's three. |
| 8:15 | It's eight fifteen. | It's a quarter after eight. / a quarter past eight |
| 2:30 | It's two thirty. | It's half past two. |
| 4:45 | It's four forty-five. | It's a quarter to five. / a quarter of five / a quarter till five |
| 1:10 | It's one ten. | It's ten after one. / ten past one |
